A little more than five years ago,
Michael and Theresa Anderson started Swan Chocolates® and began
making gourmet truffles in the back of a small retail store in
Merrimack, New Hampshire.
That same year, the company was voted Best of New Hampshire.
Originally, the couple had planned to
open a small chocolate factory upon retirement from their careers. But
while vacationing on a cold winter day in 2001, everything changed.
Sitting in a small pub, the couple discussed their vision of a
chocolate company – where it would be, what chocolate creations they
would make, what to name it. They scribbled notes on a napkin and
decided, right then, that to wait another 30 years for their dream was
out of the question.
Today, Swan Chocolates has a
Signature Dessert Café, a thriving web business, and a
brand new
factory located inside a fully restored historic structure in
Merrimack, New Hampshire.
In addition to creating handcrafted chocolates and truffles, the
chocolatiers and pastry chefs at Swan now present authentic Italian
Gelato, fresh ice cream, a wide selection of pastries, cakes and other
decadent indulgences.
